Admin Clunky & Inflexible

My beef with Secure Trust is that their computer remembers my account ID, password and secure QQ answers from previous deposits I held several years ago, and applies these to any new account (what normal person keeps these on file?). And when you query this, their call-centre has no latitude to be flexible, "Computer says..."

Good Experience

Had a good experience with Secure Trust. Fixed rate bond market leader at the time, easy to open and deposit via bank transfer.

Good security poor admin

Many hoops to jump thro' to get to your a/c & that is fine but the admin is not so good e.g. Sending letter by email & by post, sending repeat copies of documents both by post.

Lack of Products:

My dealings with the Secure Trust Bank were very good 3 yrs ago. One of my bonds will shortly mature, and they have now offerred me a loyalty rate to transfer to a new 3yr bond. Although a poor rate for savers, it is the best one on offer at the present time, so have accepted their offer, just to spread my portfolio. Sadly, apart from this renewal for 3yrs, I was told that they were only offerring a 7yr biond at present, and would not let me open a completely new 3yr bond at present. Phone call to office was very helpful, clear and informative.

Seems like a good company

I took out a long term bond last year at a good rate, got my interest paid to my current account at another bank at year end as promised and 975 certificate of tax sent to me at end of tax year. Telephone help was good and I can automatically transfer via internet banking (NOT insisting on a cheque in post as some other companies do - ie loss of interest as you don't know when it will be presented). Good rates, FSA protected so I'm about to get another bond with them.
